The Right Highlight

We’re answering our

#1 asked question:

What highlight service is right for me?

Because the truth is highlights have a lot of names: foils, teasy lights, balayage, foliage, hair painting, color melt, ombre’... so confusing! You may have heard one of these names and thought, wait is that what I want? We’re going to make this simple right here and now!

  •  What these services all have in common is that they all lighten your hair.

  • What makes them different is the technique that we use to achieve the correct placement and lightness according to your current color and your color inspo.

Now this is where we make it incredibly easy for you! At The Harbor your only job is to have a reference of your hair goals - that's it! If you're with one of our stylists you only need to show them your dream color and they will be able to determine what technique will get you there. If we’re doing a virtual consultation with you to schedule your appointment, we use a photo of your current hair in natural and indirect lighting along with your inspo photo to help you select the right appointment.

Partial Highlight: 1.5 - 2.45 hrs / $200-$275

A service to maintain or create new highlights which are strategically placed around your front and back hairline and where you part your hair. This is ideal for new clients who are looking for a minimal amount of lightning or for existing clients who want a retouch on current highlights with less than 4 inches of growth since your last highlight appointment.

When to book: You have highlights with less than 4 inches of regrowth.

  • You want to retouch your existing highlights and you want to see your natural color heavily blended throughout.

Full Highlight: 2 - 3.5 hrs / $240-$375

Do you want to know what plays

a huge part in your results?

The starting point of your current color.

If you want a big change in your color OR you have more than 6” of regrowth you need more

More time in your appointment for additional blonding techniques OR multiple sessions because you’re ok with taking it slow. The starting point of your current color is a major factor in what you can accomplish in one bonding appointment. Did you know:

  • You can get a full highlight and still be a brunette.

  • If you have all natural color, it could require 2-3 sessions of a full highlight to achieve an all-over bright blonde.

  • If you're wanting a soft, lived-in transition to a heavy blonde ends and you have 6+ inches of your natural color, it could require The Works, allowing us to perform many color techniques in one session to address your natural regrowth.

We want you to know that we always aim to please and we will do everything in our ability to create color that you love. With that in mind, we will show you what results you can expect to have in your current appointment time and what your next step should be to continue the process plus maintain your dream hair.
