The In-Between: A Stylists Guide to Care Between Appointments

IMG_0388.jpg

After your appointment—
this may be your story

You leave the salon, you put on your shades, turn on your favorite song on blast, roll the windows down and bask in your new hair glory. Nothing quite beats the feeling of a fresh cut or color, or BOTH. You made plans for the night OBVIOUSLY to show your people your new hair, it’s what any wise person does on hair appointment day.

Because your hair is looking so good, you stretch your wash day and you’ve used all the dry shampoo that you can just to soak in those last few hours of your salon blowout bliss.

You finally get in the shower and wash your hair, loving your fresh color even when it’s wet, you are overjoyed about your new do.

Now a couple weeks go by and you are back into your routine of buns, airdry and you are severely missing that out of salon glow you had. WE GET IT.

We want to equip you with the tools that can boost your confidence daily at home.

1. Shampoo and Conditioner

  • PRODUCT matters. The fact is, as with all beauty products you truly get what you pay for, so if you’re paying 12.99 for shampoo & conditioner after you spend 200+ on coloring your hair...you’re going to miss out on your color lasting and your ends wont stay for long either.

  • For a routine that ensures moisture : We love the 7Seconds line of products to keep your hair hydrated and protected with the bonus of adding so much shine. For an added protection, use the mask to inject your hair with moisture once a week!

  • For maintaining your bright blonde: We recommend Mr. Smith’s Blonde Masque. The fragrance is like a spa in your shower and with the blue toning base instead of the typical violet tones, this blonde masque really combats that brass (blue and orange are opposite on the color spectrum)

  • For strengthening your hair after blonding : You will get all the support you need from the Re:Unite line that works to repair and recover your hair from color and heat processes

2. Styling

We want you to have the right tool to help you with your look! If you use heat on your hair, a heat protectant is a must!

  • If you blowdry, you want to apply a barrier on your wet hair before it ever meets your heat. Unite’s blow out creme is going to help you control any frizz. Unite’s Lazer Straight will help you relax any unwanted curl. Unite’s Volumizing Spray will encourage your hair's texture and sheen.

  • Ready to tie up a bun? Let’s try a silk scunchie, or a coiled hair tie, this is more gentle on your ends and helps a ton when you have lightened your recently

    1. We love these hair ties and scrunchies to prevent breakage : Slip Silk Scrunchie, Kitch Coiled Hair Ties

4. Rest

  • Take a few days off from styling all together.  We love to strategize with you how your air dry style can be effortless with a bit more purpose. After you airdry, using Unite’s Second Day Cream can bring definition to your natural wave, Unites Texturiza can add volume if your hair is flat, or Unites Dry Shampoo can lift the root.
